PictureBoard Vice President, Penny Berry
Penny Berry
I am proud to have served on the Plumas Arts Board of Directors since 2010, as secretary, vice president (twice) and president.  I believe Plumas Arts provides much needed support for the arts at a time when funding for the arts has been sketchy.

My enthusiasm for the arts began at an early age.  I learned to play guitar at age 12 and haven’t really ever stopped.  Singing came naturally as well.  I took every music class available in high school.  We played music at parties and around campfires.  Music has been an integral part of my life.

In the late seventies I began performing with my husband, Dude.  He is a percussionist and harmonica player.  We have played in bars, restaurants and coffee houses up and down the west coast and southwest.  We have two grown children and two grandchildren.

I was involved in education for 23 years, 12 years as a teacher and 11 years as and administrator.  As a retired educator I am especially pleased with Plumas Arts’ continued focus on Artists in the Schools. I am proud of Plumas Arts’ accomplishments over the years and of its’ new directions.

PictureBoard Secretary, Will Lombardi
Dr. Will Lombardi has lived, worked, and raised a family in Quincy, CA since 1987 when he arrived from the Bay Area to attend Feather River College. Since then, Will has worked as a wildland firefighter on the Plumas Hotshots, as a carpenter for area homebuilders, and finally, as a tenured professor of English at FRC.

Will studies, reads, and writes about western, California, and local literatures in ecosocial contexts. He spends his time rambling in the
local|wild enjoying birds, flowers, and fish. Will is committed to supporting the fine arts and culture of our watershed.

PictureRyan Schramel
Ryan Schramel was raised in Plumas County, graduating from Greenville High School in 1999. He attended Saint Mary's College until 2003, graduating with a BS in Psychology. He was then commissioned in the United States Marine Corps. As a United States Marine he deployed multiple times in support of combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan, he has also supported Humanitarian Aid/Disaster relief operations in South East Asia. His personal awards include: Bronze Star with Combat Distinguishing Device, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal with Combat Distinguishing Device and two gold stars in lieu of third award. He is also an honor roll (top 5%) graduate of the Expeditionary Warfare School (Military Science and History). In 2014, he left the active duty component and has been pursuing a career in public education. He has completed his credentialing course work with National University to gain a single subject teaching credential for Social Studies. Ryan is married, has four children, and currently resides in Taylorsville, CA.

PictureJudy Chynoweth
Judy Chynoweth has lived in Chester part or full time since 1997 and during this time has served on several area non-profit boards including the ABC Center, Plumas Rural Services and The Almanor Foundation. She survived a long career working with state and local governments and foundations to improve outcomes for children and families by strengthening policy and practice. Most of her work involved bringing together different departments, organizations, foundations and communities to think, plan and operate collaboratively. She has skills in facilitation, board training, strategic planning and results accountability. Today, Judy focuses on a balanced life, giving back to her family and community, gardening, reading and just loving living in Chester.
